Jill Park is a native Floridian and lives with her husband Randy , in Punta Gorda. They have three grown sons.
After raising her children, Jill returned to college to finish her degree. She majored in Liberal Studies with a concentration in social sciences and minored in Art. While taking art classes at Florida Gulf Coast University, she took a small job as an illustrator for a coloring and activity book for children. Jill also participated in juried student exhibitions. Her studies in Social Sciences inspired her to recognize the exquisite molas of the Kuna people in Panama, as well as the dream paintings and x-ray art of the indigenous peoples of Australia.
After graduation, she became certified to teach Art K-12. The following summer she taught classes at the Summer Kid’s Art Camp, located at the Visual Arts Center, in Punta Gorda. Her students created colorful sea turtles from brown bag sculpture. They also learned about paper mache’.
Jill has been a member of the Charlotte County Art Guild, and has participated in member shows. In April, 2010 she was awarded Artist of the Month by the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County. During which time, she was involved in 4 one man exhibits through the Art in Public Places program.
